Using Multiple Organizations
Multi-Org in FireHydrant
For many businesses using FireHydrant, there are unique incident management practices and security concerns for different teams within their organization. To support having unique and isolated incident management processes, teams using FireHydrant can now use Multi-Organizations to manage multiple FireHydrant organizations from within the same account and Slack workspace.

Switching Organizations in Slack

For Slack users that are linked to multiple FireHydrant organizations, they can run FireHydrant commands from either organization. To reduce continually having to select an organization, users can simply switch between orgs using the /fh switch org
. Running the command will open a modal that allows the user to switch between organizations in FireHydrant that have them as a member.

Since any user within a Slack workspace can open an incident regardless of their license, when any user runs /fh new
they will be prompted to switch into an organization before opening that new incident.
Switching Organizations in FireHydrant

In the FireHydrant web application, users who are part of multiple organizations can easily switch between different organizations in the top left side of the navigation bar. The dropdown will show all organizations that the user is a part of and will only display to users who are part of multiple organizations.
Additionally, you can easily share links to incidents and other pages in the web app to users who are part of multiple organizations because the URL will correctly switch the user into the organization where the content lives.
Managing Organizations Settings in FireHydrant
In the FireHydrant web application, users can manage settings for their organizations under their User Profile. To access the User Profile page, click the user avatar in the upper right corner and click "Profile." Users who are part of multiple organzations should see each organization listed in their profile settings. They can manage connected accounts for each organization, notificaiton settings, and select which account is set to their default account.
API Keys and Organizations
API keys have always been scoped to an organization level, and so with the new multi-org features, you can create unique API keys for each organization within your account knowing that one key doesn't provide access beyond the scope of the organization where it was created.
SSO and SCIM Provisioning
To get users into the right organization in FireHydrant, you will need to create distinct applications in your IDP (Okta, Google, etc.) to manage users and groups for each organization. You can use either automatic or just-in-time provisioning for your users when configuring multiple orgs.
